MiniSite Profits Exposed: Are You Using It?
How many times have you complained about there not being any immediately useful information about how to make money online?
If you haven’t complained about it, you’ve probably heard other people complain. And you know what? You’re right. It IS tough to find good information, especially if you need to know how to start from scratch.
I get a ton of emails from people needing help with this stuff. Literally hundreds. And they usually ask very similar questions, because nobody’s ever laid out the simple steps you need to take to set up your own mini-sites that actually turn a profit.
The funny thing is, I used to be in the same situation myself. I was frustrated. I couldn’t find help anywhere. I knew I wasn’t stupid, but I needed somebody to lay out a blueprint for me to follow to get started…and not charge me an arm and a leg for it. I definitely can relate to people who are struggling with nowhere to turn.

My goal was to give people the nuts and bolts of how to create mini-sites for themselves, without being technical geniuses. I won’t go over the entire course here, but here are some important items in there:

The main point of the course is that creating mini-sites is easy, once you know what you want to sell. In other words, once you have a product, even a very simple one that didn’t take you long to create, selling it with a mini-site is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to make money.

The video course is amazing. I can’t believe how easy it makes this. I’ve been completely in the dark for so long that I was getting too frustrated to do anything. Now that you’ve put everything in one place, and explained it so well, I have hope again!
But I have one “issue” I can’t seem to get my head around, no matter how hard I try.
In several of the videos you talk about how to set up an autoresponder. You even gave a couple sample messages and some guidelines for scheduling. All of that is great, but the deeper question for me is how do I know what to promote to my list?
I mean, there’s a ton of stuff out there and I’m not sure how to keep up with everything so I can maintain consistent contact with my list. I always seem to get behind, go quiet and have my list get stale so they never buy anything anymore.
If you can offer any more guidance on this, I’d appreciate it.

You’re absolutely right about keeping in regular contact with your list. The challenge for most people is that it takes a lot of work to review products and pick winners. And to be blunt, it takes some email writing skills most people either don’t have or aren’t confident they have.

I took advantage of your freebie Mini Site Profits Exposed Video course and at the same time went for the OTO Delux Extras, that go with it, just a couple of days ago.
Unfortunately, I then went and slipped a disc in my back (again), so I am only just trying to return to my computer with all my fingers and toes crossed..

I never want to squash anyone’s dreams, but making a couple hundred bucks between now and July 1 is very likely to be a challenge for you.
I don’t know you at all, but I suspect you’re pretty new to the online marketing game. If you’re starting from scratch like that, it’s probably going to take you more than 11 days to see profits. It COULD happen, but I don’t want to get your hopes up.
That said, the biggest hurdle for most people is getting started. So watch the videos and then…this is the critical part…apply them! You never know what you can do until you try.

This is a matter of timeframe.
How soon do you want the $700-800 per month? If you want it tomorrow, you’re probably setting yourself up for failure. But let’s do some math…
Suppose you sell a product at your minisite for $27. If you sell it at ClickBank and offer a 50% commission on it, you’ll end up with roughly $13 profit per sale.
So if you want to make $700-800 per month, all you need is roughly 50-60 sales a month. That’s roughly a couple sales per day.
Can you get that? SURE! The free videos talk about how to set things up so you can do it.
Will you get that? I have no idea! Really, I’m not trying to be funny. If you have a niche with people who are willing to spend money, and your product meets one of their desperate needs, and your sales copy sells well, you can easily start seeing 50-60 sales per month.
But the key is to get started. You won’t see 50-60 sales per month until you see your first one. You can grow from there.

However, there are some people, like me, who have medical conditions that make it difficult to watch moving objects on a screen (computer or television).

I can feel your desperation, so I’m going to do my best to respond helpfully.
What I can’t do (and won’t even try) is promise that any of my products, or anything I say on this blog, will solve all your money problems and make you rich beyond your wildest dreams in a week. That’s crazy.
The most important thing you said is that you don’t know where to start. I can help on that one! Here’s what I recommend:
1) Apply what’s in MiniSite Profits Exposed. Create a simple product and a simple site for yourself.
2) Definitely apply the techniques for creating a squeeze page and building a list.
3) Offer your product for sale on ClickBank. (To answer your specific question about ClickBank, you can offer your own product there or you can promote products as an affiliate, either way.)
4) Follow the advice in the videos to get some traffic to your mini-site. (This is a place where the Deluxe videos actually might help you a ton, because I go into more detail about traffic generation there.)
That’s how to start. I can’t claim it’s “push button simple”, because it does take some effort. But the free videos will do a good job of helping you set up your own site and have the potential to profit from it.
Remember, there’s NEVER a guarantee that you’ll profit from any mini-site. Do your best to find a good market and to create a good product for that market. Then you’ll be able to test it out to see if you get any sales.
And most important, Marlene, don’t give up. You say you won’t, and I hope you really mean it. If you stick with this, you can do it. It just won’t happen overnight.
As for me providing coaching, I don’t do that right now…but the videos should help

Your domain isn’t absolutely critical, but it’s important for two reasons:
1) You want a domain that’s at least related to your product, or people won’t associate your product with the domain. Selling a weightlifting book at horseracing.com probably won’t help your marketing any.
2) A domain with your keyword in it will help you get some free traffic from search engines.
Focus on having a domain related to your product topic and you’ll do yourself a favor.

If you don’t have an Internet connection at your house, do you have access to one somewhere else?
That won’t be very convenient for you, but it might let you get started.
Regarding not having money, you’re going to need some. You’ll need at least a little bit for a hosting account and for an autoresponder account. That might run you $30 per month minimum. If you don’t have that much, you’ll need to save up so you can get started.
That might not be what you want to hear, but I think it’s the truth.

Do I need to draw in a big list of followers before I can sell? How do I sell solutions to all sorts of different business problems? So if I wanted to expand this buiness to some other subject would I need a whole new list of followers for that subject too?
Yes, and what exactly do I email them about every week? Do I need to be an expert in everything?

Let me address your points one by one.

I’m glad you liked them. Lots of people tell me I should offer coaching, but I haven’t had the time. I won’t close the door on it, but it’s a future thing.

I recommending having at least one site for your business, but you can start with a site that’s not necessarily a “minisite”. You could start with KatesPlace.com (something as an umbrella for your brand), and then add minisites as you create products.

Nope! There are lots of ways to get free traffic, and that’s really all you need. Offer something compelling, send free traffic to it, and build your list that way. In other words, build a list by selling something.

Like I said, if you have a sort of umbrella site, you can build other sites to sell individual products. That’s probably what makes the most sense in the long run. But when you’re just starting, there’s nothing wrong with putting up your first minisite and getting some cash first!

No, you don’t have to be an expert in everything. You can email them reviews of products (see http://michaelrasmussen.com/video/killer-emails/ for some help with that), case studies of the stuff you’re doing and what you’re learning, etc.

I have been listening to the videos and like what I am hearing.
I had trouble getting my clickbank setup done. Am waiting to hear back from them to get it going. I wish it could be done sooner, but no luck. I sure could the extra cash from month to month.
I am retired and on Social Security, so my income is on the limited side. As soon as the clickbank account is up and running, I will be doing more. In the meantime I will continue to watch the videos.

I´v seen the video´s and the say nothing but great things.
But i think i need to go though them some times to create
a mini site of my own.
I live in denmark and my life and way of living incl. finances
have´nt been so good for the past 2½ years.

It´s pretty sad and me and my family rearly need help.
Thats why i am trying to create minisites/websites to get
a better income. right now i´m in hell.
I´m on sickpay with stress and trying to pull everthing

I own a brick and mortar marketing and advertising company…back in the 90’s we started redirecting resources into the internet concepts.email and basic web presence to replace printing, yellow pages costs

A few years back I set up my own hosting company,added a web design department to augment my graphics group and started my exit strategies out of brick and mortar businesses into the ramping up of a home based operation for internet marketing for retirement..
I soaked up a lot of information from the best people around….it took a lot of overtime hours for me to get positioned both for semi-retirement and launching into internet marketing..from a subscriber, buyer of products and investment into tools and services…besides watching the internet changes like watching the stock market….and I’m sure many people have gone through this same tempering as me.

Normally, I hate videos… Mainly because I am of your father’s generation and I read faster than you will ever be able to talk
- So, anything that is not written (=readable) is a waste of time for me. Sorry, but that’s the truth.
However, not having an alternative, I had to start watching these videos a) to know what am I promoting; b) to see if there is anything that I can use in an upcoming project of mine. Well, the result was the “wow-effect”: if I got stuck with these videos for more than an hour just watching and watching… they are good, “son”!

I watched your video series as soon as I signed up. I knew that if I let it sit around I wouldn’t get to it.
It was great education and very detailed. Your explanations were clear and if people have a product or service to sell and follow these videos they could quickly start to make money.

This is a choice for you.
You can find products with private label rights (PLR) that you can modify and sell as yours. Or you can create your own product.
The first option is pretty easy. Google something like “plr products” and you’ll find a ton of them.
The second option isn’t as hard as it sounds. You can write a brief report (10-15 pages) for any niche you care to find, slap a price of $7-27 on it and sell it. Don’t want to write it yourself? Then post a project at Elance.com.
Not having a product isn’t a good reason not to get started with mini-sites, since it’s so easy to get a product of your own.

Yes, you can create subdomains. Nothing wrong with that.
The only challenge will be if your main site doesn’t have much to do with the product you promote at a given minisite. For example, if your main site is AllAboutDogs.com and you want to promote a product about website design, WebsiteDesign.AllAboutDogs.com looks a little funny. Still might work, though.
Another option is to get a hosting account that lets you host multiple domains on one account. That would let you have AllAboutWebsiteDesign.com in your single account.

Yes and no.
Most of the time, “squeeze page” is a more general term that refers to a typical IM email capture or optin page.
A “lead generator” page is the term most people use for a page designed to capture lead info for offline follow-up (by phone, etc.) These pages usually ask for more information.
The goal is pretty much the same for both types of pages, but the context is a little different.
And you asked:

I don’t know anything about the other product you mentioned, but I can say this: You don’t need special software to capture leads. All you need is an email capture form on your minisite. Any autoresponder service will give you copy-and-paste code to create the form.

The first pointer is…watch the videos! Really, that’s a great place to start.
For somebody completely green, as you say you are, I suggest something sorta counterintuitive…don’t try to get all the information you can, at least not yet.
Watch the videos, apply the techniques, THEN get more information from other sources.
It’s not that I think I’m a genius, or the only source for good info. The bottom line is that most people get that old “analysis paralysis” thing when there’s too much information. It’s better to get a small chunk of info and apply it than it is to get a truckload of info and sit on it.

In a nutshell, I’m not taking on any partners right now, and I’m not doing any personal coaching. It simply don’t have the time or the inclination to do it at this point.
Since you’re financially strapped right now, I suggest you watch the free videos and learn what you can. Then apply as much as you can within your budget. You can start SMALL, but you have to start somewhere.

1) Watch the videos and USE them. Getting more information is fine, but applying the information is what makes you money.
2) Don’t get stuck in analysis paralysis. You don’t need a perfect product, or a perfect site, or a perfect niche. You need a niche where people are buying things, and a product they’re likely to want. Then go for it!
3) Make your site look professional, but don’t break the bank to make it a work of art. Really, a nicely organized site with a few professional graphics is all you need.
That’s about it. If you’ll do what the videos talk about, you’ll end up with a minisite that you can be proud of, and probably a nice little income stream to boot.

yep,going to check out the vid’s.
Your past free ebooks have been a good help also.
Might be going against the grain here,but visually
most minisites tend to annoy me.Too much graphics,overly vivid colour schemes and loads of info to absorb,but because of all the ‘glam’ and hype i tend not to absorb or read much of the info on the page.
To me a high percentage of minisites seem overly cluttered,i dont know it might jus b me who thinks this way’.

Michael, a couple questions I hope you can help with.
First how important in your opinion is the domain name
Second, can you have one domain with sub domains
Some of the lessons seem to cut off at the end is this a editing snafu or something more? I’ll have to g back and dig if you want more details, if you do just email me.
Your honest, friendly approach is refreshing, I appreciate the honesty I see in your replies in regards to expectations of money making, that more than anything says you are above board.
I have identified a product I like very much, they offer a 30 free trial, do you see that as a problem? They do offer an affiliate and reseller program. Comments?
If I have resale rights to a product can I sell those rights to another buyer? Such as some of the web stuff I purchased from you, graphics and such.

Eventhough you are an expert, can I give suggestion?
It will be greatly increase the useful of that series, if you could make a vids for complete newbie, how to sell something with mini site, step by step from scratch, preparing, subscribing to autoresponder,uploading everything to a server (take an example of only 1 product is enough), and finaly until the example minisite is up and running.
Therefore, everyone who purchase your product can follow easy steps from scratch to full up and running minisite
